Electric vehicles(EVs)arebecominganattractivealternativetogasolinevehiclesowingtotheincreaseof
greenhouse gasemissionsandgasolineprices.EVsarealsoexpectedtofunctionasbatterystoragesfor
stabilizing large fluctuations inthepowergridthroughthevehicle-to-gridpowersystem,whichrequires
smart chargeanddischargeschedulingalgorithms.Inthispaper,wedevelopalinearprogrammingbased
heuristic algorithmonatime–space networkmodelforchargeanddischargeschedulingofEVs.Wealso
develop animprovedtwo-stageheuristicalgorithmtocopewithuncertaindemandsanddeparture
times ofEVs,andevaluatetheeffectofthesmartchargeanddischargeschedulingofEVsonapeakload
reduction inabuildingenergymanagementsystem.
