These ports, in the fisheries context, refer to ports that have minimal or no
established standards to ensure that only legally caught fish are
landed (Petrossian et al., 2014). They suggested that more pressure
needs to be applied to such ports making it more difficult for IUU
fishers to dispose of illegally obtained fish. The present study utilizes
the CRAAVED theft model to explain illegal crab and lobster
fishing. Such analysis of crab and lobster poaching will elicit gainful
understanding on the problem along with preventive implications.
