His Majesty King Chulalongkorn (Rama V) commanded the construction of Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall in 1904 and it was built in the area of Dusit Palace. After that, His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej graciously gave permission for the renovation of Abhisek Dusit Throne Hall to change it to be a museum specifically aimed at displaying artworks and handicrafts of the Foundation for the Promotional of Supplementary Occupations and Related Techniques of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit. Artworks and handicrafts displayed at the museum are of gold and silver niello ware, artificial flowers, carving work, textiles etc. Importantly, the Queen has graciously permitted the display of some of her personal collection at the museum.
