Plant height, fresh and dry matter weight of shoot and roots were evaluated
60 days after transplanting. The concentrations of Ca, K, Mg, P, Na were determined
using inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectroscopy (ICP-AES). Nitrogen
concentration was determined by the Kjeldahl method. The nutrient content of these ions
was estimated in shoot and root on the basis of concentration and dry matter weight
according to Alcántar and Sandoval (1999).
