Different studies all over the world have proved that immigrant workers have higher work related injury rates. Loh (2004), Richardson (2003), Dong (2004) and PeekAsa (1999), among others, found out that fatal occupational injuries are higher for foreign workers. Their research was based on the United States administrative data. Moreover, Bollini and Siem (1995) report that studies in the Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, and France had
also proved that foreign workers‘ injuries rate is higher than for native ones. As far as
Spain is concerned, Ahonen and Benavides (2006) report that foreign workers have an increased risk of non-fatal and fatal occupational injury if compared to native ones.
