Holy snot.
So I got a phone call at five in the morning, I repeat, five in the morning from my old supervisor informing me that I had a shift at my old job that I quit over a month ago, today starting at 6:00. I told him that I had other obligations, I have a Chem lab, I have other job interviews, I have business at the college I can't go... His response, that doesn't make you a very reliable employee does it? If you're not able to take the shift don't take them. Excuse me was that a threat, and when I agree to go may I ask? Two weeks ago he sent me a text message asking if I was free this Monday to work, my response was; I don't know maybe, probably not. He took that as 'a yes I'll be there.' You sir, are a tool, it takes a real jerk to overwork employees like that and it takes a special breed to continue to be a problem in your past employees life after they quit... So, infuriated, feeling a little bit threatened I'll tell him I'll be there but I request that I leave at 11 o'clock, he informs me that the morning shift is now a solo shift, and that wasn't an option. Are you kidding me, this is healthcare, do you understand that word, healthcare. Do you know how dangerous it is to have one person taking care of 12 other people for 12 hours? You cut it down to a solo shift so you can save yourself an extra $1000 a month? Are you kidding me, do you have any morals at all? Hire a freaking temping agency, don't force me to sacrifice my education for your convenience. You suck.
I can't tell him no because I can't afford to have bad references this young in the workforce, and he knows that and capitalizes it. This is a textbook bully. Ugh. Tool.
