Engagement Quality
If the clutch engages prematurely or is not applied with
full pressure, a shudder or vibration results from the rapid
grabbing and slipping of the clutch. The clutch begins to
engage, then slips because it cannot hold the engine's
torque and fully engage. The torque capacity of the clutch
is determined by the oil pressure applied to it and the
condition of the frictional surfaces of the clutch assembly.
