Aaron Elvis presley was born on january 8, 1935 , in a two-room house in tupelo, Mississippi. His twin brother, Jessie Garon was dead , leaving Elvis to grow up an only child. His parents were poor, but very religious. They always took Elvis to church. Elvis attended the assembly of god Church with his family. His earliest musical in fluence came form the gospel music he heard in church. Other influences were the pop and country music of the time and black bluesman in the neighborhood.
