One person who has spent many years studying woolly mammoth is the French explorer Bernard Buigues. To find the mammoths, Buigues relies on tribes that live in the frozen areas where the creature once lived. One of these tribes, the Dolangs, live on Siberia's frozen Taimyr Peninsula. The Dolgans knew of many places where forzen woolly mammoths could be found and often used mammoth tusks for tools.
