Strains and growth conditions
L. innocua (CIP 8011, CCMA 29) was grown in 150 ml
Tryptic Soy broth enriched with 0.6% (w/v) yeast extract
(TSBYE), in a continuously agitated temperature-controlled
shaker at 28 C overnight. Three to five milliliters
were inoculated in 150 ml of fresh TSBYE and agitated
for 1–2 h, as previously explained, to obtain the final
desired concentration of cells.
