This appendix provides a summary of pertinent information used by the civil/structural engineer who is involved in evaluating behavior of buildings subjected to explosions and in the design or upgrade of buildings for explosion effects. Areas covered by this appendix include evaluation of building response to overpressure, fragments, and ground shock induced by potential explosions, and design and construction considerations of importance to blast resistance of buildings. This material is useful in conjunction with detailed quantitative consequence evaluation as de scribed in Chapter 5 and with mitigative risk-reduction measures as de scribed in Chapter 6.
