This picturesque village is the Akha tribe who migrated from southern China and had settled in the northern part of Thailand for more than 100 years. The Akhas’ lifestyle and traditions such as swing playing (Lo ShingSha), New Year Day (Pee Mai KhaiDaeng), textile weaving, and steel making are provided for visitors. Ban Lorcha is one of the cultural tourism villages which are organized by the community supported by the Population and Community Development Association (PDA-Chiangrai). This village was the winner of the 7th Thailand Tourism Awards in 2008 in the culture category. The admission fee is 80 Baht/person.
