Among the most complex and important of the person perception processes are those involving attribution about the cause of behavior. Making attribution that explain why a person did something is very common. Whenever a person makes a statement about a political issue, succeeds or fails at task, or treat someone with respect or neglect, we are likely to ask why. What is the reason for the person acting that way? We don't only make attributions about other people's behavior, we do the same for our own behavior as well. We may wonder, Why am I so scared or Why did I do so poorly on that exam?
