Every now and then a shoe comes along that leaves us stunned. For ASICS in 2010, the Lethal Tigreor IT is that shoe! It is packed with features that make it amazingly comfortable and supportive, yet due to the genius of the ASICS design team, it is unbelievably light.

ASICS has adapted the already successful Solyte Polymer outsole seen in our Protection and Support category and applied it to the Lethal Tigreor, our most technical boot in the Speed and Performance category. To fully demonstrate its effectiveness, two separate outsoles were produced from the one mould; the first with the new Solyte Polymer and the second with traditional polyurethane. The Solyte midsole was 30 grams lighter, which is an amazing difference when you consider how light the baseline weight of a football boot is to start with.

The studs seen on the new outsole are a developmental change in themselves. A study of low pile grass found that a greater number of smaller studs have a better co-efficiency with the ground than an aggressive cleat stud profile. This results in better grip and outstanding release when a change of direction is required.

Lateral stability is also a focus in the new Lethal Tigreor and this has been achieved by wrapping the outsole to cover the HG 10mm Solyte component. This in combination with an internal bracing system on the lateral side of the boot protects the wearer against the risks associated with sudden direction change.

Although primarily designed to be performance oriented, the Lethal Tigreor IT has also been created with a view to achieving player comfort. The combination of Kangaroo leather in the vamp along with super lightweight synthetic Japanese materials, asymmetrical lacing and a compression moulded sockliner for extra cushioning help the Tigreor IT stake claim as the most comfortable low profile football boot on the market.
