Many people perhaps think they are very responsible, but do they really know the meaning of responsibility? Responsibility is the quality or state of being responsible that for which anyone is responsible, a duty, a charge or an obligation. Being responsible is when you make your own decisions. You think them through and decide for the right one.
An example of responsibility can be as simple as doing your homework. If your teacher assigns you an assignment where you have to do research and type, you have to be responsible. First of all you have to do research on your own time. Then you have to be responsible enough to type it up and turn it in on time. If you slack off and don’t do what you were told to do, then that is you not being responsible. That’s just a simple example of responsibility.
Another example might be you admitting responsibility. You might have done something wrong, but you have to be responsible to admit it. You are willing to take risks, and you are not afraid of the consequences. The consequences might be bad or good, but you as a responsible person are willing to accept them. You have to make a big decision and really be honest on whether to accept it or not.
One last example can be you as a dad or mom taking care of your family. That is a big responsibility. Not only do you have to support them financially, but you also have to love them. Parent s have to educate their kids, give them what they need and look after them. Imagine if your kid asks you for shoes, you know you have to work hard in order for you to be able to buy him his shoes. Now you know that working and giving them what they need is not everything. You need to spend time and educate them. That can be a tremendous responsibility.
