This activity is designed to encourage development of self-validate model of intimacy through understanding this new definition of intimacy as well as the connection between male stereotyping and avoidance of intimacy. The goal for clients is be able think of an experience as intimate even when it is not reciprocal. If clients were to continue utilizing the other-validated model of intimacy, they would view anxiety as an indication that something is wrong with the relationship and they might prematurely extricate themselves from it. Once they develop a self-validated model of intimacy, they able to experience anxiety, hurt, Or pain as a"normal" and expected part of a relationship, thereby allowing them to deepen the level of connection they experience in their relationships.
