design process in Australia (Cooke et al., 2008). There is no
similar system available for the Hong Kong construction
environment. According to the previous research, it was
found that there is lack of systematically risk assessment
techniques for safety professionals and most of them just
doing the assessment on the basis of their own experience
and knowledge which is not reliable. On the other side,
good practice is also very important for achieving safety
performance on site. Effective safety instructions should
be given to workers and safety awareness should be
enhanced. Thus, all workers should also learn risks existing
in their jobs.
