The paper has been structured into two parts. Part one first examines the
distribution of income/output (GDP capita) in current zloty terms across Poland’s
sixteen voivodships/regions with a view to first providing a geographical
perspective (Map 1) on the country’s economic capacity and to distinguish the
relative position of voivodships in terms of the national level (subsection 1.1). This
work then examines the nominal and real effects of growth in order to determine
what proportion of overall output is due to growth of real GDP capita and what is
due to growth in prices.
