Meeker asserts that use of the SOI Model provides a theory of intelligence for education where previously none had existed. She believes that, by using the model for curriculum development, we can meet the educational needs of each child more adequately. Meeker, therefore, has developed assessment techniques that make use of the major tests of intelligence, the Stanford-Binet and the Wechsler. These tests can delineate the student’s areas of strength and weakness that correspond with specific abilities on the SOI. The resulting profile of the student provides the basis for a curricular plan that may then be implemented with materials developed by Meeker for classroom use.
