No, and there are some clear reasons why:
1) Zoos can help protect animals.
As you will know, there are all kinds of endangered animals in the world, some of which could not survive in the wild at the moment due to deforestation, global warming, hunting, etc. It is because of causes like this that many animals, such as the dodo, have gone extinct.
Zoos can help protect endangered species and helping endangered species is never a bad thing.
2) Zoos can help ill animals.
Sometimes animals run into problems and require help. This may be from the veterinarian, from lack of food, etc. Well, at zoos this really isn't a problem. Due to the fact that there are so many animals there will always be vets on hand to help if a bad situation arises. There will always be people to supply food, and there will always be experienced people who love animals and are willing to help them on hand.
Zoos are prepared to deal with animals that may fall ill, so they are sometimes better there than in the wild.
3) It allows for many jobs.
We are currently in a recession and many people are losing jobs all the time. Consequently, we need as many places, businesses, etc., to supply us with as many jobs as possible, and zoos are a brilliant way to do this. Zoos enable help to animals and all of the above, as well as entertainment for the public, and because of that many people are paid because of what they love to do. Many people love to help animals, and zoos can help people do that, too.
People can gain money and a living from the things that they love to do.
