The carbon sources and nitrogen sources is important for growth of all the microbes. However, the ability to utilize particular carbon or nitrogen source varied from species to species. Improvement in protease production by addition of casein is previously reported in case of B. licheniformis,B. horikoshi and Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Gupta and Khare have reported that 0.7% (v/v) glycerol allowed protease production in case of Pseudomonas aeruginosa PseA.
