Innis (1994) states that the potential for CSA to bring families and neighbors closer
together is enormous and can successfully restore a sense of community among people yearning for connection with others. In fact, CSA brings people together in the same way
that barn building, quilting, joint harvesting, and church repair have in past decades
(Kittredge, 1996). Thus, CSA has the potential to foster a sense of togetherness among
people and empower them to become more collectively minded, long-term oriented, and
committed to revitalizing their communities
