Colour of tomatoes was measured by a Minolta Colour meter(Model CR-300 Minolta, Ramsay, NJ) calibrated with a white standard tile (L = 97.1, a+= 0.29, and b+= 1.82). Chromaticity parameters L (brightness), a+or a−(red or green), b+or b−(yellow or blue)were measured according to the CIE Lab system. Hue angle (Ho) was calculated as Ho= tan−1(b+/a+) degrees and Chroma was calculated as [(a*)2+ (b*)2]1/2(Itle and Kabelka, 2009). Readings were recorded from both sides of the tomato skin from 5 tomatoes per replicate.
