The total antioxidant capacity was determined using the cupric
reducing antioxidant capacity (CUPRAC) method as described
previously (Apak, Guclu, Ozyurek, & Karademir, 2004). Briefly,
1ml of 10mM CuCl2, 7.5mMneocuproine and 1 M NH4Ac buffer
pH 7.0 solutions were added to a test tube, followed by the
addition of 0.1 ml of the extract and then the total volume
was adjusted to 4.1 ml with distilled water.
