2.9. Statistical analysis
To assess the statistical significance among the treatments and their interaction effects, data obtained in the study was subjected to two-way analysis of variance (Cochran and Cox, 1957). Fisher’s least significant difference was calculated from the error mean sum of squares to test the significance between the two means.

Seedling emergence of onion seeds stored in a desiccator consisting silica gel at 25 8C was 65% after 21 months with a mean germination of 78% during 0–21 months of the storage study (Table 1).
