An early 18th-century Georgian wing Chair,c1720
it is difficult to be precise about the date of this chair but by comparison with the Queen Anne wing chair form the same period these front legs are more highly decorated, with shell moulding, slight scrolls and have squarer feet. these black legs are much simpler than the front ones, perhaps indicating pooere quality craftsmanship, or perhaps a later replacement; this could only be determined by examining the frame beneath the uphpolstery. it is similar to the Queen anne version in having the same high back, curving wings and outward scrolling arms.
