5. Shouldn’t a hypotensive patient drink tea?
Though some people argue that it is not advisable for hypotensive patients to drink tea after the anti-hypertensive effect of tea has been proved recently, the result of an actual animal experiment is said to have shown that, while it has an anti-hypertensive effect on high blood pressure above a certain level, it does not act on low blood pressure. Accordingly, hypotensive patients can also drink tea, and, as it may also have an effect when a sensitive person drinks it in the afternoon depending on the sensitivity of the individual, the time needs to be controlled. In the meantime, though tea taken after meal does not have any effect, it is advisable to make weak tea when drinking it after dinner or late at night, and sensitive persons are recommended to avoid drinking tea just before getting to bed.
