The primary aim of this initiative was to pilot and evaluate the
components of a Pressure Ulcer Risk Management Plan, which
centred on the implementation of the AWMA Guidelines for the
Prediction and Prevention of Pressure Ulcers in a home nursing
setting. The evaluation findings suggest that the guidelines were
effectively incorporated into the day-to-day practices of nurses at
the pilot site. Nurse satisfaction with the pilot process was high
and the pilot was seen as a useful way to trial standardization of
care and translation of evidence into practice
