Millingtonia hortensis (Bignoniaceae) commonly had known as Cork tree, Akas nim and Nim
chameli. It is important medicinal plant in Southern Asia ranging from India, Burma, Thailand and
South China. The stem bark is used traditionally as mainly lung tonic, anti asthmatic and antimicrobial.
The scientific activities reported so far from the plants are antifungal, larvicidal, antioxidant and
antiproliferative activities. The present study gives the detailed literature search on
pharmacognosy, phytochemistry and pharmacological activities of the plant.
