The specific characteristics of ‘‘locomo’’ are still
unknown. Major musculoskeletal diseases that may lead to
‘‘locomo’’ include osteoporosis, spondylosis, and osteoarthritis.
Although the spinal column, which strongly regulates
posture, is one of the major and most important
components affected by osteoporosis and spondylosis, we
found no reports investigating the relationship between
spinal factors and ‘‘locomo.’’ Our current study aimed to
investigate the influence of spinal curvature, range of
motion and other factors on ‘‘locomo’’ in the elderly.
