3.3. P7-1 expression precedes the other viral genes and remains the highest
throughout viral infection
At 8 dpi, P7-1 is practically the only gene that was highly expressed
in rice (Fig. 4 and Supplementary Table 5). It remained as the predominantly
expressed gene and P4was expressed in the lowest level through
24 dpi. From 8 dpi to 24 dpi, P7-1 was expressed significantly higher
than P7-2. P9-1 was expressed much higher than P9-2 at 20 dpi and
24 dpi whereas there were no significant differences between the expression
