Regarding fatty acid composition of oil supplements, the rapeseed
oil mixture contained more oleic and linolenic acids, but less linoleic
acid, than the soybean oil mixture (Table 1). Also, the rapeseed oil was
characterized by doubling the content of C22:1 and more than tripling
the content of C22:2 fatty acids.
Sage extract exerted the highest antioxidant activity (2528 TEAC)
and was characterized by the highest total content of phenolic compounds
(59.0 GAE). Both of these values were lowest (601 TEAC and
16.8 GAE) in the coneflower extract. For the prepared extract mixture,
antioxidant activity measured 1917 TEAC, phenolic content 43.4 GAE
(Table 2).
