. ASSESSING DESIGN SCIENCE RESEARCH PROJECTS
Assessment is often the end point for research projects from
a student perspective. This paper proposes that assessment for
design science research projects be based on the research report
structure shown in Table II. Since the description of the artefact
is a main section of the report it should accrue a large portion of
the available marks. Therefore, assessment marks might be
allocated as follows: ¼ of the marks to the artefact; ¼ of the
marks to the evaluation and discussion; ¼ of the marks to the
method, which includes a description of the research approach
and the processes followed. The remaining ¼ marks can be
allocated to the literature review, introduction and conclusion.
