Single malt whisky – Single malt whisky is whisky which comes from single distillery which use only malted grain, mostly using barley. Single malt whisky is normally refers to “Single Malt Scotch Whisky”. This Single Malt Scotch Whisky must be produced from malted barley and must be distilled by pot still at single distillery under Scotch whisky rules. In addition, Single Malt Scotch Whisky must be aged for at least 3 years in barrel. This barrel capacity must not exceed 700 liters. In US, single malt is normally made from rye rather than barley.
