is starting 2016 with some shocking news. The band has announced they are parting ways with longtime Slipknot DJ Sid Wilson. The split has been in the works for several months, sources say. Sid Wilson has been in the band since 1998.
The band shocked fans with the announcement on their Facebook page about the member change. Immediately after acknowledging that Sid Wilson would no longer be a member of
Slipknot, the band announced his permanent replacement.
“To our Slipknot family and friends, it is with deep regret that we announce that we have parted ways with Sid Wilson (#0) after a difficult discussion that was ultimately best for the band. We wish our brother Sid all the best in his future endeavors. He is our brother for life and we are thankful for his contributions to the band.
Slipknot is proud to welcome Sid’s replacement to the band, a 2015 Macbook Pro with a 15 inch display. The Macbook brings a powerful quad-core processor to the band with an immense 9 hours of battery life. We are honored to have this Macbook join us on our journey!”
The Macbook Pro will take over Sid’s role in the band, effective immediately, the group says. Slipknot reportedly reached the decision to let Sid go after realizing how much they were paying him to press ‘Play’ every night on stage.
