3.2. Confirmation experiments
One confirmatory experiment was performed under the
aerobic starting condition at a pH of 7.0 _ 0.2, cultivating
temperatures of 31e33 _C, and a YE concentration of 7.0 g l_1
in medium 122; the sample was taken after 11 days of
fermentation. The concentration of ethanol produced
reached 457 ppm, which differs from the predicted value by
3%. In another experiment under optimal conditions, the
ethanol concentration also reached 469.28 ppm, which differs
by 0.5% from the computed value. Again, the data show that
the established ethanol production model appears to be
reliable.
