As a follow-up to John’s email,
I have attached a copy of my own British Home Office Project Application (this is super confidential, under law this should not be photocopied or circulated to non-relevant personnel).
Apologies it is a mammoth document.
To hold this I also have to hold a specific personal license (which I have had to relinquish now because I am no longer in the UK) and I have had to go on a number of courses.
I have drawn a very simplified flow diagram of what sort of happens so you can see why it is such serious business in the UK. Any infringement at any level can result in serious penalties, fines and imprisonment.
I have held a personal license for about 20 years, been a named deputy on a project license for 5 years and then held my own project license for 9 years. Whenever our inspector visited, stress levels went up because the penalties are so serious. It is for this reason, I am keen to know whether equivalent systems exist in Thailand and more importantly that we do not infringe them.
I hope this helps explains things a little more and why I am keen to know Thai law and meet the Chief Veterinary Surgeon.
