According to previous reports
terpenoid hydrocarbons show large differences that depend
on both the olive variety and geographical origin (Bortolomeazzi
et al., 2001; Pouliarekou et al., 2011; Vichi et al., 2003; Zunin
et al., 2005); actually farnesene, at variance with present results,
was often reported to be the most representative terpenic hydrocarbon
in EVOOs from different geographical region (Cerretani
