thus,showed considerable deviations from the basic karyotype. The populations Z8,Z9,Z15 and Z16 were represented by triploids 3n=33, the others Z10-Z14, by diploids. The chromosome complements of these populations (Fig. 10-18) give the impressing of essential karyotype uniformity. All the pairs are submetacentric, except for the pair no.8 which is subacrocentric to acrocentric. A secondary constriction and, in two cases, (Fig.13,16) a tertiary constriction, may occur in this pair, which possesses the NOr-chromosomes. Heteromorphisms are common for many of the pairs. The distinction between long, medium and short chromosomes is less conspicuous. A basic karyotype formula representing these diploids and triploids should then be:
