This paper presents a novel Medium Arbitration scheme for
supporting QoS traffic (MAQ) in Wireless Multimedia Sensor
Networks (WMSNs). MAQ is geared for providing predictable
medium access delay at the level of the individual nodes,
without sacrificing the utilization of the available bandwidth.
To achieve that over a single channel, MAQ fully integrates
TDMA and CSMA/CA medium arbitration schemes. A node is
allowed to schedule its transmission for an entire session and
guarantee collision free access until the session ends.
