INTRODUCTION
Longkong is Thai name of Aglaia dookkoo Griff or Lansium domesticum Jack in Meliaceae family belongs
to a tropical fruit crop originated in the area from peninsular Thailand to Borneo growing in humid and shaded
environmental conditions. Longkong presently is the most popular fruit in Lansium species or langsat group in
Thailand. Advantages of longkong fruit are very less latex and nearly seedless (one big seed per fruit by average)
compared with langsat (Lansium domesticum Jack) with white latex and 1-5 big seeds (Nakasone and Paull, 1998).
The objective of this study is to understand the physiological and growth responses of longkong seedlings to various
light intensity conditions.
