28 July 2010 - 23 Engineer Regiment (Air Assault) have been presented with a stone monument by the people of Oslo to commemorate the sacrifices made by Sappers during World War II in Norway. The Norwegian-designed monument is carved from stones cut to commemorate Hitler's victory in Norway and a piece of the German Battleship sunk in Norway, the Tirpitz. At the top is a Pegasus statue, stood on top of parachute wings used by The Parachute Regiment. The Commanding Officer of 23 Engr Regt (Air Asslt), Lieutenant Colonel Frazer Ross said the regiment was "deeply humbled to be recipient of such a monument.
