• Making the guest feel comfortable
The most respected and appreciated bartenders are the ones who suggest, recommend, and ask questions. Rude, pushy, or arrogant do not belong here. In its simplicity it is all about giving the best service possible to the guests.
Greeting
• Always keep a positive and professional attitude
Always acknowledge your guest no matter how busy you are. Most people understand that you cannot serve them straight away but as long as they know that they are next in line they are fine with it. Ignoring a guest though is the worst thing you can do. How do you feel when the bartender acts like he or she has not even seen you when you are straight in front of him or her? Sometimes eye contact with a nod is all it takes to put a guest at ease. The important part is to acknowledge them and let them know they are about to be served.
As a speaker and informant you need to speak clear with a good posture. Guests will soon feel uncomfortable and find no trust in you if they cannot hear what you say. Speak up.
