When it is the Jade Emperor’s birthday each year, worshipers celebrate by burning incense and offering food in Daoist temples.
For that celebration, they arrange an altar with numerous kinds of offerings, such as vegetables, betel, wine, meat, and other items.
More generally, at Daoist temples, in addition to offering food, there may be costumed dances and dragon dances. Worshipers also carry gods around in palanquins at that time.
