A. cyanophylla is a cheap and abundantly available plant. Their
yellow flowers produce natural chalcone dye which has been
extracted, isolated and used for dyeing wool fabrics. Our study
showed that this natural chalcone dye must be used at low dyeing
temperatures in order to avoid its degradation and consequently
the fall of the colour yield. It can provide bright hues with good
colour fastness properties. Post-mordanting improved generally
light fastness especially in the case of zinc sulphate
