A careful structural analysis of bemotrizinol(Fig. 4) indicates that it presents molecular symmetry, with aromatic rings functionalized with hydroxyl groups, which allow energy dissipation by electron resonance; this characteristic is widely accepted as determinant for its photoprotective characteristic, since it allows easy delocalization of electrons when absorbing photons.
