Participation in the LiSM10!®, an individually tailored behaviorchange-
oriented program, in the workplace can result in significant
improvements in metabolic parameters relating to insulin resistance
in middle-aged male white-collar workers. Generalized and relatively
simple lifestyle changes are encouraged by a counselor and appear to
be useful for preventing metabolic disorders. Further refinement of
both personal contact and interactive technology based interventions
is necessary to confirm long-term effects
