Fyi you should NEVER quit any medication cold turkey. .dangerous and will cause a rebound effect. .check with doctor first so to wean yourself off safely. .

Audio brain retraining does work. Studies have been done since the 60's .. You have to stick with it. .you can raise your mood, increase memory attention, reduce anxiety etc . with different frequencies. For example, beta which is dominant during wakefulness is associated with mood, learning, focus and overall mental outlook.

It seems to me that this goes against the logic of how brainwave entrainment works. I mean, the crucial principle is that if you put one frequency in one ear, and another in the other ear, your brainwaves sync with the difference between the frequency (i.e. binaural beats), right? So how can you stimulate both hemispheres separately? Just my intuitive idea based on what (admittedly little) I know about this stuff.

@1Created1 and Awaken us and anyone else! I knew yr posts are old but I am suffering thru Effexor i take such a small amount (15 beads out of the capsule) if i don't take it i get awful brain/body zaps/shivers my mid shifts to BAD. Dr is no help. Has anyone else experienced these "zaps" and if so did prozac or anyother remedies control them? They are debilitating. Effexor is a drug to stay far away from. Funny I never withdrew from pain meds. But Effexor has ruined the past year from me.

Ok I was diagnosed RC bi-polar 2 over a decade ago. went cold turkey on all my meds a year ago February. I was on a lot Cymbalta was only one along with 1500 Mg Cerequyl,Tamazapam, Adivan, for the life of me I can not remember the mood stabilizer or The others, That was probably the dumbest thing I will ever do but I survived. Fortunately I live mostly alone now because the eight months following my cold turkey were literally pure insanity (Thank god for my mother who visited so often). Unfortunately there appear to be a few pretty negative side effects to the ordeal which appear to be long term. For instance my emotions seem to all be always active. I have learned to deal with that and I would rather not discuss the others except this. My mind now seems to well... I guess kinda mix up recalled information. I have been using meditation recently and that led me to these Binaural tones. can this help or is there something else that will hekp?
