Microalgal biodiesel are characterized by their viscosity, Cetane
number, density, pour point, flash point, copper strip corrosion,
glycerin and acid value based on ASTM standards. In this study,
the fuel properties of the algal biodiesel were characterized. It
was found that the biodiesel obtained from S. bijugatus meet the
ASTM standards. The viscosity of the algal biodiesel obtained in
this study was 4.71 mm2/s; whereas it was 5.76 mm2/s for the biodiesel
obtained from the marine microalga Nannochloropsis sp.
[57]. The density is also a key property for combustion systems
because it influences the efficiency of atomization. Higher values
