Google Glass is a headset, or optical head-mounted display, that is worn like a pair of eyeglasses. It was developed[9] with the mission of producing a ubiquitous computer.[1] Google Glass displayed information in a smartphone-like hands-free format.[10] Wearers communicated with the Internet via natural language voice commands.[11][12] Google started selling a prototype of Google Glass to qualified "Glass Explorers" in the US on April 15, 2013, for a limited period for $1,500, before it became available to the public on May 15, 2014,[13] for the same price.
On January 15, 2015, Google announced that it would stop producing the Google Glass prototype but remained committed to the development of the product. According to Google, Project Glass was ready to "graduate" from Google X, the experimental phase of the project.[14]
On Dec 28, 2015, Google filed a new application with the Federal Communications Commission for a new version of the Google Glass.
